Here at quointec, we’re weary of the words ‘innovator,’ and ‘disruptor’ which is why it pains us so much to say that we are, indeed, both. quointec is the first company of its kind to occupy that sweet spot between software company and law firm—you can think of us as rulebreakers who serve rule followers.
To get a glimpse of our origin story, picture a couple of legal professionals, tech experts, and solution designers gathered around a table, riffing about a never-before-created resource that could help organizations leverage technology + legal advice to solve their compliance challenges. Dara Chevlin Tarkowski
Chief Innovation Strategist
The challenges that really excite Dara are the same things that make old school lawyers scratch their heads. Which is pretty damn lucky for us. A quointec Co-Founder and our financial services legal guru, she spends her time creating— partnerships, products, and ideas—and attributes empathetic listening and thinking as the keys to her success. When it comes to talents, Dara is a quintuple threat: slinging legal analysis, strategic thinking, product design, business development, and a robust understanding of technology.
Her legal career began in 2007 after attending Northwestern University (Go Cats!) for undergrad and Loyola University School of Law for her JD. In addition to her work for quointec, she also a Founding Partner at boutique Chicago law firm, Actuate Law...yet somehow (refreshingly) she doesn’t sound like a lawyer. Other tidbits to note about Dara: she is a Certified Receivables Management Compliance Professional, a Lincoln Park resident, a musical theater zealot, and never travels without instant packets of Cafe Bustelo coffee. Y’know, in case of emergency. When she’s not getting amped about cool solutions for quointec, you can find her being a ‘full-fledged’ dance mom and quoting Coco Chanel.
Randy Rivera
Chief Engagement Officer
If ‘fun’ isn’t something you associate with financial services, you clearly haven’t met Randy Rivera. Not surprisingly, Randy’s role at quointec centers around people—where he thrives at translating our products and solutions into non-lawyery, non-techy language for our customers. Before Co-Founding quointec, he spent 17 years working in the finance and technology spaces; honing his business development and management strategy skills and realizing that what truly excited him was creating new solutions to old problems.
It’s this unique experience and perspective that helps us deeply understand our end-user and continue finding tech-forward ways that we can save our clients money and time. Because the quointec team is full of overachievers, Randy is also Founder and Principal of Keen Advisors, and the Executive Director of FinTEx. Speaking of achievements, Randy studied English and Government at Georgetown University and earned an MBA in Finance and Entrepreneurship from University of Chicago.Outside of work, Randy’s idea of a good time is cheering for Georgetown, coaching his two boys in baseball, flag football, and basketball, nerding out with his daughter about tech and music and surrounding himself with good people and great wine.
